OK, now I am really mad....

Most of the people who read my blog will not be interested in the tirade I am about to go off on. So please just send this link to your crazy uncle or deadbeat cousin and be done with it.

I am hear by recommending that Rush Limbaugh rename his program "The Newt Gingrich Show". I have had it. We are to believe that Newt can reform from his philandering ways....but Mitt Romney can't change his mind. Perhaps at 68 the philandering ship has sailed, but seriously? Newt? Perhaps Mr. Limbaugh doesn't remember Sharon Angle. The tea party favorite who was not Nevada's best candidate and frankly was embarrassing.

Seriously Newt?

And by the way, I loved Sarah Palin. She was me....a housewife who worked her way up all the way to vice presidential nominee....and now she endorses (or might as well) Newt. I see her now as someone who has a lot of money and power and is not handling it very well. And is throwing her weight around saying things that don't even make sense......

I joined the Republican Party in the year 2000. Mostly to vote for a friend of mine in a primary. I am a social conservative, and a fiscal conservative....I mostly voted republican anyway....but who are these people? Rush and Sara look like my unreasonable cousin who is still mad I got my grandmother's flatware.

Seriously Newt?

I felt the same way when Sharon Angle was nominated. Here we go, another 6 years of Reid doing nothing for Nevada. And I was right. I met with a businessman this morning who needed my support on a project he is doing. They all say the same thing, no one is helping Nevada get back on their feet. Not a single politician....ever see Reid? Ever see any of them?

I will not support an unelectable candidate again. I will not vote for Obama because he has tried to get us back to work and he can't. Everything else he stands for doesn't really affect me....and probably doesn't very many others......but he never gets up and gives us the Braveheart Speech....

I want the Braveheart speech! I want people to believe in themselves again! I want people to start taking chances...get out there and fight for your home, and your way of life.

Don't let Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin and the rest of them talk you out of what you know is right. And if they still speak to you then great. But think for yourself. If Gingrich had done such a great job in Washington he would have a lot more support from those he worked with.

Read what Steve Largent has to say about him. Largent probably won't endorse Romney because of Romney's religion, but read what he says about Gingrich. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0112/72084_Page2.html

Just a thought....now I am going back to clean my bathroom.

  3. I love your rants, Donna. You're articulate and smart, and I always pay attention to what you say.

As you know, my politics are center left. But I've been truly dismayed by the attacks leveled against Romney. I just don't understand the animosity your party feels for him. I know lots of personal Mitt stories that speak to his basic decency.

Sarah Palin . . .wow. I would never put the two of you in the same category ever. She's consistently underprepared and so. . . venal. Not a fan here.

  6. Could care less about what Rush thinks, I always knew he was a Newt lover deep down. I think Sarah Palin is so in love with herself that she just likes to be able to listen and see herself on TV. Newt likes that also but he is in love with power and is going to get anyway he can! I wonder what Newt promised Rush-I wonder what he promised a whole lot of people...??

  7. Hi Donna, I liked what you wrote on your blog. I agree with you about Newt is okay for changing his wives and religious views but Romney can't change his mind about anything or he's a bad guy. I actually was going to support Newt because he really is good at arguing a point, but ever since he started attacking Mitt Romney's financial success, I turned off to voting for him. He sounds just like Obama when he goes after Mitt's success. I'm tired of successful people being demonized. My vote is with Mitt.

  8. Donna - you must have been listening to Rush today, like I was on my way to yoga. It was hard to focus after the idiocy he spouted. He's clearly for Newt and it makes me mad. I can't figure out how Newt can distance himself from the "Republican Establishment" - like he hasn't been part of it for the past several decades! He's a wonder in a debate, but I've lost a lot of respect for him, and I think he's a loose cannon. Mitt may not be as conservative as some would like him to be, but really - if he weren't more towards the middle right now would he beat Obama? I think not. I really can't stand Sarah Palin. She has a voice like a fishwife and anyone who would abandon her state the way she did I can't have any respect for. She is in love with the lime light and I wish people would stop asking for her opinion. Sometimes I think they do it because she's so ridiculous. OK. I am finished. *pant pant* I like Mitt - I like his core beliefs and I think he's a good man, an honorable man, and a very intelligent man. That's enough for me. Santorum is a little smarmy for me. Newt is despicable, and Paul - well, he reminds me of Mister Magoo.
    Over and out.

    1. I get so nuts, because I want someone to call in and speak for me!! I think he is stacking the calls, and thinly veiling his approach to lead people to say what he wants them to say. I keep thinking, "seriously? do you think I am that dumb?"

    2. Well, I want YOU to call in and speak for me. I would forget what I wanted to say and then I'd just sound stupid. If you don't want to call, let's think of someone who will!

  9. I happen to know that Newt is the true conservative in the race, because true conservatives always keep their vows . . . oh, wait . . . Well, at least true conservatives look at their public service as a short break from their private jobs and lives and careers . . . whoops . . . At least we can count on true conservatives not to capitalize financially and unfairly from the public fisc . . . not doing too well, am I.

I am not in love with Romney as a candidate. Not certain he can withstand the barrage that is coming in the general election. But a Romney win guarantees a more conservative House and Senate, and a vanilla-bland President Romney would be far more likely to let Congress lead the nation--there's a radical, Madisonian concept--than the "historical figure" Mr. Newt.

  11. Hey, Donna. I was so glad to hear from you today. I am so happy things are good.

As for the election... I was driving down Interstate 20 (recently designated Ronald Reagan Memorial Highway... passed signage as such)... just made me cry. Yes, William Wallace or RR... I want to feel proud and hopeful again...

  12. Newt - highly intelligent and highly volitile. Slightly mad, and definitely ego-ridden. A loose cannon. Fabulous debater. But too crazy for our party's nomination. Mitt is not boring nor bland. He is not perfect and has made mistakes. But he is conservative enough, a man of integrity, and the most trustworthy candidate we have. (Although I dearly wish he would disavow RomneyCare, or at least say that he & we can all learn from its' failures) Mitt is our best chance against Obama. He is a quality candidate - warts and all.
PS: I am also puzzled by Rush & Palin's Newt endorsement.

  13. I do agree with what you said about Sarah Palin. I think she's a good person, but too scatter brained and too distracted to run for anything.

I haven't listened to Rush in years. Seriously, Newt?

  14. Thanks for the article. Meaty food for thought. Sadly, I fear that Romney and Gingrich share some of the same political flaws (flaws in my eyes). I wish that Santorum could figure out to how to shine a bit brighter. I also wish that Newt would speak to some of his earlier flaws. I'll keep wishing...and I'll cast my one vote. Cherry Kay

  15. Me again. In case you're interested in persuing the pink goblets...they show up occasionally on eBay. That where I bought them. They've increased in price a good deal since I collected mine, but perhaps you could pick up one or two at a time. They really are wonderful. Cherry Kay

  16. I am so with you chickie!!
These people are ridiculous!! Newt seriously - is an idiot!
I have been watching everything for months now - Primaries, news shows, etc... and everyone (well almost everyone) agrees that Newt can NOT beat Obama and that Romney has a good chance so why is everyone not throwing their support behind Romney and just getting on with the business of ousting Obama?? WHY????

    Idiots!!!
